Keep your community clean and tidy

Find and Fix works in areas of the county that need more intensive work than our general maintenance can give. It focuses on sites that you raise with us, or we identify, and have multiple issues that need more attention. 

What activities are involved

Tasks that we have tackled so far as part of the project include parks that have become overgrown over time, and within which play equipment has needed a deep clean, cycle ways and footpaths that have been restricted by vegetation, car parks and access ways to some of the county's nature reserves in which fencing has been in disrepair and trees and shrubs have begun to encroach on parking bays and footpaths.

Work we have done so far across the county includes:

• cutting back vegetation (eg weeds)
• cutting back, removing and replacing shrubs and bushes
• installing of new planting schemes
• repairing, replacing, installing and painting new street furniture (eg benches)
• removing encroaching grass or other vegetation from the edge of footpaths
• repairing and renovating steps (cleaning and moss removal)
• removing graffiti and flytipping
• removing tree stumps
• reseeding grassed areas
• removing, replacing and installing bins and dog bins
• cleaning bus shelters
• cleaning and pressure washing play area equipment
• repairing and replacing fences
