Welcome to the Public Health Skills Development Centre which is here to support the development of public health skills amongst the wider workforce. 

If you want to know more about public health, are looking to develop your public health skills or are seeking a career in public health, then the following web pages should have something for you.

For organisations, we can offer a range of staff training such as Mental Health First Aid, as well as supporting any workplace health initiatives you may have.

We also offer opportunities to gain direct experience of working in public health, with supervised training packages, internships and clinical placements as well as work experience opportunities for young people still at school and thinking of a career in public health or a related field. 

We are strongly committed to the continuing professional development of our public health staff and provide a wide range of development opportunities for them to ensure they remain up to date and are able to progress their career.
