Consultation on Horden Masterplan options
We wanted to know the views of the communities of Horden to help us develop a masterplan for the numbered streets in Horden village. The masterplan will look at the needs of local people, particularly with housing and facilities.
We had received 1195 responses to the survey, thank your for your replies.
Background
The community of Horden has experienced significant social and economic problems, with the village now being in the top 3% of the most deprived areas in England and Wales. One part of the village, known locally as the 'numbered streets' has suffered most, with the extra pressures of poor housing and environment.
We want your views and ideas about what the area needs for the future, in particular the 'numbered streets'.
Options
While we do not have funding in place, we have developed some options. They are not detailed and only give an indication of what could be done. We would like your views on these before we develop further details, agree a masterplan and seek funding to carry out work in the future.

We will continue to work with homeowners and residents throughout the development of the masterplan. Dependent on the option chosen, we will discuss support available including if necessary, support with rehousing.
Have your say
We would like to hear from anyone who lives, works or visits the village and has a view on how it could be improved in the future.·
The closing date for comments was 4 July 2019.
What happens next?
The masterplan will provide us with a range of potential options for the longer term. It will be used to make bids for central government funding to deliver improvements in housing and the environment within the 'numbered streets' area.
