How to vote
The page below outlines the different ways you can vote in elections or referendums.
You must register to vote before you can vote in our elections or referendums.
After you've registered, your name and address will appear on the electoral register - you only need to register once. Contact Electoral Services to check whether you are on the electoral register.
Ways to vote
Once you're registered, you can:
- Vote in person
- Apply to vote by post
- Apply to vote by proxy (a proxy is someone who votes on your behalf)
