A19 Seaton Lane roadworks

Along with our contractor, BAM Nuttall, we plan to carry out improvement works to enhance capacity at the B1404 Seaton Lane, to facilitate housing growth in Seaham and south Sunderland.

Work that will be happening

A new roundabout will be created at the top of the realigned A19 southbound off-slip road (connecting to the B1404), allowing traffic to/from Sunderland to access the route via the A1018. This will allow traffic to avoid the congested Seaton Lodge junction.

The proposed roundabout will be located at the top of the A19 southbound off-slip. A new right to left crossover on the A1018 will also be created, facilitating northbound travel for road users towards Sunderland.
