Road maintenance funding bids

Local Highways Maintenance Challenge Fund (2019/2020)

£93.4m has been made available by the Department of Transport to Highways Authorities who were challenged to put forward schemes which could make a real difference to road users. 32 councils were awarded funds, and a further £900,000 was given to scientists, innovators, academics and tech-focused start-ups to research new ways to future proof the UK's roads.

We have been allocated £4.2 million to bring forward an essential maintenance scheme on New Elvet Bridge.
