Apply for a concessionary seat on school transport
Where spare seats are available on a school bus, they can be sold to pupils who are not entitled to free transport. These are called concessionary seats.
Applications for September 2024 are now open for many schools.
If you had a concessionary seat in the 2023/24 school year we will have your details on file and your application will be rolled forward into 2024/25 automatically (unless you contact us to opt out of this). You do not need to re-apply unless your address or school has changed. Please Contact Concessionary seats if they have.
If you did not have a concessionary seat in the 2023/24 school year, applications for 2024/25 are now open. You can apply for a concessionary seat using the application form for the appropriate school below. Please do not apply for transport for next year using this years form.
Students attending schools with 6th Form where concessionary seats are available can also apply for a concessionary seat on school transport. Please note a fresh application will be required as they enter Year 12 irrespective of whether they attended the same school in Year 11 but this new application will roll over into Year 13.
This page contains information about the September 2024 secondary school schemes. If you wish to apply for primary school transport, please Contact Concessionary seats.
Terms and conditions
Please read the terms and conditions listed against your school in the table below. They explain how you apply for a seat, how seats are allocated and how to pay.
We cannot guarantee that seats on school transport will be available.
Paying for your seat
If your application is successful, we will write to you with details of costs before you have to pay anything, and you may opt out of the scheme at any time. If there is a cost for a seat, you will usually only be charged for the days of scheduled travel.
If your application is successful, we will send you an invoice for the total cost. You can pay for the seat in monthly instalments.
How much does it cost?
Please see the table below.

Notes on the scheme
- Charges are calculated for the full school year of 190 days for Years 7-10. Year 11 pupils attend school for 170 days, and the annual charge will be lower to reflect this shorter school year.
- If you apply after the start of the school year, the cost of the seat will be calculated at the daily rate of the scheme for the number of days remaining in the school year.
- Passes are issued each term and we do not normally make adjustments for short term absences.
