Calibration and testing


We offer comprehensive calibration and testing facilities.

Our independent laboratory provides a quality, confidential service designed to meet current trading needs which enable you to compete in the marketplace.

Metrology services

We provide calibration and evaluation of working standards and testing equipment. Traceable calibrations are available for a wide range of weighing and measuring equipment, including:

  • local authority working standards and testing equipment 20kg - 1mg
  • cast iron weights up to 20kg
  • brass and stainless steel weights 25kg to 1mg
  • glass measures
  • steel and brass liquid measures
  • spirit optics
  • tape measures and metric rules
  • weighing machines

Certified weights are also available for hire.

All calibrations carried out by the laboratory are traceable to UK national standards and are therefore suitable for quality assured systems under BS/EN/ISO 9000.

Other fields of calibration will be considered on request.

The service is available to all industries needing calibration which are traceable to UK national standards and are therefore suitable for quality assured systems under BS/EN/ISO 9000. Please contact us to enquire about this service and obtain a quote. You can download a calibration request form.

The service is also an EC Approved Body (No. 0520) for the calibration and approval of EC Approved Weighing Equipment and Liquid Fuel Measuring Instruments under the Measuring Instruments Directive. To request a verification of an EC Approved Weighing Equipment or Liquid Fuel Measuring Instrument please download a verification form.

Quality Policy Statement

We are committed to maintain the highest possible quality of service to meet the needs of its customers. This Quality Manual describes the quality practices followed within the service to achieve these aims.

It is the responsibility of all staff to comply with the relevant policies and practices laid down in the Manual and associated documentation at all times, unless there are any modifications to the agreed policies and practices formally authorised by means of a written concession by the Quality Manager.
