Bishop Auckland town recreation ground
Bishop Auckland town recreation ground is located within walking distance of Bishop Auckland town centre and surrounded by residential areas.
It can be traced back to 1912 when the bowling green was installed. Tennis courts and a football pitch were later added and finally play equipment became part of the recreation ground.
Facilities
Bishop Auckland town recreation ground covers 43,000 square metres of land and includes informal recreational open space together. The park features four tennis courts, a bowling green, football pitch, play equipment and a BMX/skate park. Local groups including a bowls club, a tennis club and a Sunday league football team use the facilities.
Location
The park is situated in Bishop Auckland town centre between Etherley Lane and Bob Hardisty Drive.
Opening times
The park is open all year round.
