Footway surface treatment

Footway Surface Treatment is used to seal, repair and extend the life span of footways. It is a cost effective treatment and improves the appearance of footways.

Preparation

Residents will be notified of any disruption in advance of the works taking place. Footpaths will be edged, cleaned and treated with weed killer. We will also identify any low utility covers so they can be raised prior to treatment.

Application

Up to two coats of the treatment will be applied by hand to the top of the footway to seal the surface. The footway will be closed when the team are laying the treatment, reopening soon after the product has set. This treatment is only carried out during the summer months when ground temperatures are warm enough to help the product set.

Aftercare

Sites are monitored and resprayed with weed killer.
