How you can help others to move more

If you are part of an organisation that could help people to move more then we want to hear from you.

You might offer organised physical activity events such as walks, sports sessions, dance classes. Your organisation might give advice and guidance for those who are less able to move more or you might be part of a business that wants to help its staff move more.

There are two ways for you to get involve, just Contact Public Health:

Become a partner

If you work in an organisation that already delivers physical activity sessions of any nature, then you may want to become a partner. If you do, you will be supporting our work to get everyone moving more across County Durham and helping us to roll out the Moving Together priority actions.

To help you do this, we will send you regular updates with key messages from our core partners. This might be useful hints and tips you can share with your own audiences on things like eating well and being active. Or we may send you information about upcoming events or opportunities for you to get involved with. We also hold quarterly Network meetings, and although you do not have to attend, these are a chance for our partners to network with others, find out more about our vision and how you can help us roll it out.

Become a supporter

If you're interested in helping people to move more, but do not currently offer any physical activity sessions, then you can become a supporter. You may be an employer wanting to help their staff become more physically active, someone who has a very active hobby such as a cycling club member, or you might be a member of your local community who wants to help others around you to move more.

As a supporter, we will send you regular updates with key messages from our core partners. This might be useful hints and tips you can share with people you know on things like eating well and being active. Or we may send you information about upcoming events or opportunities for you to get involved with.

By sharing our messages, you will be helping us spread the word to more people about the benefits of living a more active life.
