Incredible Years pre-school course

This course is aimed at parents of children aged three to six years. It looks at how you interact with your child, and helps you to promote your child's social, emotional and language development to get them ready for school.

Parent comment: 'Before the course I didn't really know how to be a parent or how to play with my son. Now I enjoy doing things with my son, and I know my limits better. I would recommend this group to other parents as it helped me build a bond with my son and help me understand that I just needed some guidance and someone to believe in me. I have learnt in this group I am not in the wrong or a bad parent for needing some support.'

You will learn how to help your child learn the skills they need to be ready to start school, and help them to regulate their emotions and build social skills, such as turn taking and sharing. You will also learn how to use positive praise, model problem solving and practice self-control and calm down strategies.
