A167 Newton Aycliffe upgrade
Work to deliver improvements to the A167's Central Avenue and Ricknall Lane junctions, and at the A167/A689 Rushyford roundabout is complete. We would like to thank all road users and residents for their patience while this work has been done. Minor works off the highway, including finishing landscaping, fencing and some signage work will be completed over the coming weeks.
Work started in July 2024 to provide additional road capacity in the area, and potentially allow the development of up to 1,400 new homes on the Low Copelaw site to the east of the town.
