Medication and Falls


This course will provide an understanding of how and which medication can increase the risk of falls in older people, what to do and who to inform when we identify this.

Presented by the Intermediate Care Pharmacy Team. 

Entry Requirements 

Care home must care for Intermediate Care patients.

Who the course is for

All Senior Carers and Nursing staff who manage medication.

Learning method

The course is Face to Face and will take you approximately 60 minutes to complete. It is a Power Point presentation where notes can be taken and questions asked.

By completing this course, you will:

  • How different groups of medication can increase the risk of falls.
  • What to look for and when to raise any concerns. 
  • Fracture risk
  • Useful tools
