Pay and support for you as a social worker

County Durham is a great place for child and family social workers. Our favourable terms and conditions, attractive benefits and development opportunities can help you reach your full potential at any stage of your career.

"One of my favourite things about working for Durham County Council is the people. There is a great team spirit and people are very willing to help each other. We encourage a supportive atmosphere and that permeates across all of our teams."  Hayley (Social Worker)

We were gold award winners for Supportive Employer of the Year at the 2022 Social Work Awards. Find out more about our award at Supportive Employer of the Year at the Social Work Awards 2022.
