Due to maintenance, the following systems will be unavailable from 11.45am on Tuesday 24 December until 8.00am on Thursday 2 January: our online Council Tax, business rates and housing benefit services, and our welfare assistance form. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Carer's staff network

We recognise that many employees juggle work while also caring for an older, disabled or ill relative or friend.

The working carers network is an informal peer support group which is open to anyone who has caring responsibilities. The group has a Microsoft Teams channel we can post messages and share useful information.

We also host supportive drop in coffee and chat sessions online. These forums provide carers with opportunities to connect, share experiences and ask for advice. Our local carer organisation, Durham County Carers Support, are also part of the group and attend many events, offering expert support and signposting.

Through our membership of Employers for Carers we also have free access to guides and resources specifically designed to help make working and caring easier.

If you are thinking of applying to work for us, and would like to know more about the group or working for us, Contact Equality and Diversity.
