Employment help for people who have caring responsibilities

We want to help you to get the best out of your life, but we recognise that you have a responsibility to someone else, that might be young children or a family member that relies on you.

Have you forgotten who you are because you're too busy looking after everyone else? Maybe you feel like you're 'just a mum'. Is time for yourself really tight?

We know you still have dreams! We are specialists in breaking down barriers to help you achieve your personal goals.

We can help you maximise that bit of time you have available for yourself through:

  • exploring additional support available for you and those you care for
  • defining your personal goals
  • accessing childcare
  • being more socially included - this might be a group or activity
  • accessing wellbeing support or activities
  • making plans for the future, even if you're not ready to make a change right now
  • checking and understanding benefits
  • improving your existing skills or training
  • regaining your confidence
  • looking at work or volunteering options

There's no hurry, we'll take it at your pace, talking to us is the first step to a brighter future. Get in touch and let us help you make a change.

What to expect

We will support you every step of the way:

  • an initial chat by phone - we'll ask you a bit about yourself and your current circumstances, and tell you more about us and how we work
  • match you to an adviser - they'll be your main contact and will stick with you the whole time you're with us
  • registering with us - your adviser will arrange an appointment with you to register with us - this can be completed face to face or by video call
  • at your first appointment - you'll complete some paperwork with us, start to talk about your hopes for the future and set some goals
  • how often you will meet - this will be up to you and your adviser, based on what you are looking to improve or focus on
  • keeping on track - your adviser will help you to identify opportunities and tools to keep you motivated
  • regular review points - this will provide you with an opportunity to look at what you've achieved and make any changes to your plan
  • after six months - you'll be able to look back with your adviser and see how far you've come!
