Councillor Call for Action
Councillor Call for Action (CCfA) was introduced under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, and came into force in councils throughout the country in 2009.
CCfA powers allow a councillor to refer any local government issue or crime and disorder matter that directly concerns their ward to the relevant overview and scrutiny committees.
Under CCfA, community issues can be discussed when the councillor feels that, after having spoken with the council team, About AAPs or partner organisation concerned, the situation has still not been resolved.
Certain matters cannot be dealt with under CCfA, such as planning and licensing issues, or where issues are related to services that already have methods for the public to challenge decisions.
CCfA will also not be suitable for individual complaints, which will continue to be dealt with through our existing procedure for Make a complaint.
