East Durham AAP priorities

The Area Action Partnership reviews its priorities on an annual basis. Over 2024/25 the priority for the AAP will be Healthy and Resilient Communities.

We are updating our AAP Facebook page with any local information regarding the coronavirus. This includes changes to services or support in your area.

Current priorities

The AAP priority, Healthy and Resilient Communities covers the themes of:

  • Employability
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Food provision and poverty
  • Support for VCS group
  • Advice and guidance
  • Organisational sustainability
  • Social isolation
  • Support for small businesses (through a third sector support organisation)
  • Community Safety
  • Environment and Climate Change
  • Tackling issues caused by the cost of living crisis

Please note:

  • The AAP cannot sponsor an individual nor fund a project with only a single beneficiary.
  • The AAP cannot accept applications from individuals or certain types of business, such as sole traders, certain types of 'restricted members' clubs or businesses for profit.
  • Eligible applicants include Constituted Community groups, Statutory Organisations, Charities, CIOs, CICs, Friendly or Co-op Societies (dependent upon dissolution clause) and 'non profit' businesses. This is not exhaustive.
  • The beneficiaries must be from the East Durham area though the activity could take place elsewhere.

Priority Task Groups

We take actions on issues linked to our priorities. To do this, we have priority task groups. These groups are made up of board and forum members and representatives from relevant partner organisations.

At task group meetings, we identify and discuss issues linked to our priorities, and we consider project ideas and requests for funding linked to these issues. If we want to progress any project ideas, we then send them to the board for approval.

If you're interested in getting involved with one of the task and finish groups or would like to discuss an idea you may have for a project, Contact Area Action Partnership - East Durham.
