Cycling groups and clubs
If you want to cycle with others, go on longer rides or further afield, improve your cycling skills or knowledge of bike maintenance why don't you join a local cycling club? Find details of local clubs on this page.
Local cycling clubs offer a range of activities whether it's a leisure ride, a competitive race or something for the kids. There's a club for everyone.

- Hamsterley Trailblazers - suitable for all abilities - activities include rides across some of the best off-road tracks in Hamsterley and trail building, with children's coaching sessions also available
Women's groups
Breeze: bike rides for women is a female-only cycling organisation ran by the British Cycling who organise monthly rides throughout the UK. The sessions aim to be fun and suitable for all levels. Socialising is as important as cycling so each ride includes coffee and cake stops along the way. If you're a busy mum check out Breeze Durham on Facebook for local, friendly and informal bike rides.
Disabled groups
Gateway Wheelers organises sessions for those riding specialised bicycles in Chester-le-Street and Darlington. They have a selection of bikes for members to use so you won't have to worry about bringing your own.
