Care of the Catheterised Patient for Health Care Assistants
Delivered in partnership with the NHS this course aims to increase your knowledge of the general principles of catheter care and maintenance, infection control, catheter troubleshooting.
Who the course is for
This course is intended for Care Workers, Health Care Assistants, Managers or Nursing Associates/Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAPs) working in the community, acute hospitals and within care homes who are required to perform catheter care.
Learning method
The course is either a virtual session over Teams or a face to face session for 4 hours .

- importance of effective infection control How to handle, empty and change catheter bags
- troubleshooting documentation Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI)
