Our First Aid course is perfect for parents-to-be, parents and grandparents. The course teaches you first aid basics like dealing with choking, seizures and burns to help keep children in your family safe.
Having more people in the community trained in First Aid CPR AED is more important than ever. So, if you want to learn the skills that could save a life sign up for one of our courses below.
We also offer First Aid training for community groups. So, if you are a community group and would like a face to face session arranged please Contact Durham Learn.

Are you a parent or a carer of a young person who has been diagnosed or is on the pathway to a diagnosis of autism? If you are, this course may be of interest to you. This course may also interest professionals or those wanting to seek employment supporting young people who are autistic.
This series of ten workshops will help you to:
- get a better understanding of autism
- communicate with your child
- have the information you need to understand your child's sensory needs
- understand how your child responds and how to manage their responses
- find your way around education, including the Education Health Care Plan assessment and your rights
- find out what support is available for you and your family
- understand how you can keep your child safe, such as online safety
- look after yourself and develop coping skills
Staff will be around at the start and end of each session for a chat.
